Drawing on influences such as Tricky, Talvin Singh & Skinny Puppy, Shiva is a solo project born out of an appreciation for all things alternative. Hailing from the industrial heartbeat of the midlands “the black country” , Shiva has been evolving out of Birmingham’s underground scene producing minimal works such as ’Between us and the moon’ and ‘One day at a time’ to the more recent, stark yet moving ‘Nothing left to prove’.
Shiva’s music has developed both emotionally and sonically while retaining the original soundscape quality of his earlier works. Working as an independent drummer for artists as diverse as electro hardcore band Crawlspace(ETS Records) to the laid back Mediterranean moods of Sleepyhead (Incubator Records), Shiva fuses both rhythmic subtlety with leftfield programming to produce a poignant and electronically affected mix.
