Mixed by Ian Treacy and Micky Harris Comments 1997's Alturnative Routs was Mugwumps third release, with the addition of Keys played by friend, Ed Casey. This gave the band a new sound and direction, with songs containing odd time signatures and ever changing parts. By this time, Mugwump was receiving serious interest from fanzines worlwide and major record companies, who were eageraly awaiting the release of Alturnative Routes. It received good reviews and air play thoughout Europe and America, and also intrest from Sweden and Norway. However, the record companies were less impressed and said that they were confussed by Mugwumps image, or lack of one.
